Spring

It's happening all around us.  The snow is finally gone, the birds sing in chorus in the mornings, grass is greening up and even a few brave tulips are breaking through the earth to feel the warmth of sunlight. It always seemed fitting to me that the Christian holiday, Easter, seems harmonious with the rebirth of nature.

I feel a surge of openness in spring, cleansed and renewed after the long months of a grey winter.  It's no wonder, I fell in love with the green palm print dress in this photo.  It just feels fresh and like it's fit for something joyful.

Easter was a time for celebrating the resurrection in my childhood home and it was also a time for giving.  We always got some traditional candy in our baskets, but my mom always put a small gift in, too.  I'm not entirely certain if it's because she's always just LOVED giving gifts, or if it was to lessen the amounts of treats and subsequently cavities my brother seemed to grow. (Like any sister, I'm blaming the lack of chocolate on my brother.)  At any rate, I adopted this Easter basket strategy for my own kids, too.

Along with this email, I've been procrastinating on my Easter basket stuffers this year.  So, if you're like me and need a couple of quick ideas, scroll on. Or, if you're not like me and you're prepared, maybe you'll think "Oh, that's so cute, I need it!"  (I admit it, I grabbed a few of these items for myself.)
