Retail Apprentice

Would you love to learn the ins and outs of operating a successful retail business? Modish is looking for a creative, organized, and people focused Retail Apprentice who is excited to learn every aspect of boutique retail and may someday dream of operating their own store.

This position is 4 to 5 days per week and includes a minimum of two Saturdays per month.

At Modish, we believe getting dressed should feel fun, confidence building, and personal. We are looking for someone who thrives balancing client interaction, creativity, organization, and behind the scenes operations in a fast paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Greeting and engaging with clients in a warm and welcoming way
• Actively styling clients and helping them feel confident in their purchases
• Operating the point of sale system
• Data entry and inventory related tasks
• Steaming, tagging, and preparing new arrivals for the sales floor
• Assisting with visual merchandising and styling collections throughout the store
• Supporting social media marketing efforts including content creation and store storytelling
• Maintaining organization in backstock and sales floor areas
• Assisting with cleaning and overall store presentation
• Supporting the team wherever needed during busy store days
• Learning the daily operations and decision making involved in running a successful boutique retail business

• Reliable, self motivated, and proactive
• A strong communicator and team player
• Comfortable multitasking in a fast paced retail environment
• Interested in fashion, retail trends, marketing, and entrepreneurship
• Excited to learn and grow within a small business environment
• Eager to immerse themselves in the retail industry and grow toward owning or operating their own boutique within the next 5 to 7 years

Retail, merchandising, or marketing experience is helpful but not required. We are most interested in someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to the Modish experience both in store and online.
