August Employee Spotlight: Meet Annette!!
We’re ecstatic to be continuing our Employee Spotlight in August! So far, you’ve met our founder and leader, Stephanie, and one of our fabulous full time employees, Chloe! This month, we’re so excited to introduce you to another one of our part-time employees, Annette!
Annette has been working with us since day one at our Water Street location (literally, that was her first day.) She is no stranger to the local boutique scene, having been employed at Fancy Pants before joining us!
Meet Annette! We asked her some questions, and here’s what she had to say!
Favorite thing about working at Modish? :
“I love the customers and the personal question. You get to know the people who come through the door and they become your friends. It’s really nice.”
Best Modish Memory to Date? :
“There are a lot of them honestly. I always enjoy working WWO (Women’s Weekend Out.) Women come to Decorah from all over, and it’s fun to get to know them.”
What do you like to do when not working at Modish? :
“I like to spend time with family and friends. In addition, I like to go to concerts. In the summer, I like to go to the local dirt track races.”
Modish really prides itself on being part of the community- what do you love most about being part of Decorah? :
“I love how we do fundraisers for our community at Modish. We did a month where we donated proceeds from sales to the domestic abuse shelter. We also did a fundraiser for flood relief a few years ago. There’s something really great about our community in the sense that we’re all about supporting everyone in Decorah. We want to help everyone.”
What are some of your favorite items in the store currently? :
“I love the HUE socks and leggings. They’re so comfortable. I also love the Mittoshop clothing line. The dresses and tops made from bamboo are so comfortable. I wear a lot dresses in the summer, so they’re perfect for what I want. Plus, they transition beautifully between seasons. Add a kimono or leggings and you have a brand new look.”
What are you looking forward to most this season at the store? :
“I love sweaters and cardigans. Really, I love anything that you can wear with leggings and boots. I’m really into Fall fashion, and am looking forward to the new season!”
Fashion Tips you can share with other Trendsetters?:
“It doesn’t matter what size you are- wear what makes you feel happy and what you’re comfortable in. “

“Stephanie’s off to market this week and next week to buy for the store. She’s going to be bringing back some amazing styles and brands. Stay tuned for our Fall collection!”
